APES: (1) Seniors: Return your textbooks; (2) Juniors: Once the seniors leave, you will be working on a project of your choosing. The project will have to encompass some aspect of environmental science that we talked about this year. By the end of next week, you need to submit, in writing, your initial "proposal" to me, which should include, in detail, what you plan to do, how you plan to do it, and how it relates to APES. How you decide to present your final product is also up for discussion. Obviously your proposal will have to be approved by me before you begin work on it.

Watch all-four episodes and write a brief reflection on each. In addition, write a brief summative reflection regarding the video series. This will yield a couple of extra credit points. The deadline for submitting this is Monday, January 15th, by 6:00 pm
A&P: Get organized and start studying. The exam will consist of 55 questions, a combination of multiple choice, fill in the blanks, short answer, etc. There will be 10 questions for each of four tests we've already taken and 15 questions for the reproductive material, which you have not be tested on yet. Again, you may use any handwritten notes you have, as well as your anatomy coloring sheets, provided they have been colored and graded by me.

- The presentation must be at least 7 minutes long and no more than 10 minutes.
- Each member of the team is to make a presentation of his/her contribution to the project. Individual members will be scored for their contribution. The final grade for the entire group will be a compliation/sum of the scores of all the individual presentations. Presenters must be prepared to answer questions, from your fellow students and me, immediately following the presentation. . . . be sure to know your stuff!
- Reminder: This presentation will count as an assessment grade.

APES: In addition to the Xtra credit opportunity I mailed to all y'all this morning, here's another. There is a new four-episode video series on Netflix called You Are What You Eat. Watch all-four episodes and write a brief reflection on each. In addition, write a brief summative reflection regarding the video series. This will yield a couple of extra credit points. The deadline for submitting this is Monday, January 15th, by 6:00 pm
A&P: Get organized and start studying. The exam will consist of 55 questions, a combination of multiple choice, fill in the blanks, short answer, etc. There will be 10 questions for each of four tests we've already taken and 15 questions for the reproductive material, which you have not be tested on yet. Again, you may use any handwritten notes you have, as well as your anatomy coloring sheets, provided they have been colored and graded by me.

APES: (1) Tomorrow we will be finishing up and preparing for review; Block 2 - you've already begun. ALL of the Progress Checks have been reopened and they will ALL CLOSE at 11:00 pm on January 16th. APES: Finish/review biogeochemical cycles. Tomorrow I will begin covering the remaining material in Unit 1. You may want to review biomes. Calm down . . there isn't going to be a quiz) NB: Due to my absences, the Yom Kippur Holiday, and other planned interruptions this week, I've decided to move the Unit 1 Test to Friday, September 29th.
A&P: Finish CS#23 if yu haven't already. Tomorrow we will begin studying the vertebrae.

APES: You have no homework tonight. Tomorrow in class you are to listen and watch three AP classroom daily videos. Be sure to bring your ear buds / headphones. Your TEST on Unit 1 will be Tuesday, September 26th.
A&P: Dropped - No homework. Tomorrow in class you will receive two (2) coloring sheets. One (#22) is due at the end of class tomorrow. The second (#23) will be done in class on Monday.

APES: Tonight - Review for your TEST on Wednesday. Chapter 1 of the textbook and Biomes (Chapter 4, pp. 93-100). Change in format: I've decide the test will be 25 multiple choice questions; no free response question.
A&P: Coloring Sheet (CS) #17, the Long Bone, will be due tomorrow. Have a good night.

APES: Use the weekend to study for the upcoming test on your summer work. We will continue our discussion of the Tragedy of the Commons before we move on to biogeochemical cycles.
